Sorry to have left you in suspense! Way back in September, our class was patiently watching and waiting for our Monarch caterpillars to go through the stages in their life cycle. We were lucky enough to get to see each stage. Caterpillar, chrysalis and adult butterfly. Ask your child to describe what they observed. They drew detailed diagrams to show each stage and also wrote about this life cycle. Unfortunately, the butterflies both emerged at the end of the school day and didn't have dry wings until after supper time. They had to be released without the children to observe, but I'm happy to say......they did indeed fly away! They are probably getting close to Mexico by now! LOL!
